MSP 8th Grade Celebrates Outsider’s Day

Not only was it the 50th Day of School, it was also Outsiders Day for MSP eighth graders who celebrated reading S.E. Hinton’s realistic fiction novel, The Outsiders, by stepping back in time by dressing as either a Greaser or a Soc. There was even a best-dressed contest for both ELA teams. The day included watching The Outsiders movie and enjoying popcorn and Coke as if they were at a real drive-in theater. The students and teachers had great discussions comparing the similarities and differences between the novel and the movie as well as voting for their favorite outfits.
