Students Eat Free!! – USDA Program Extended

WE ARE PLEASED THE USDA HAS ANNOUNCED THE EXTENSION OF THE
SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM.
POPLARVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL BE SERVING FREE MEALS TO
ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE DISTRICT.
FREE MEALS WILL BE SERVED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

September 9, 2020

All children enrolled in Poplarville School District will be served free meals! USDA announced the extension of the Summer Food Service Program and Poplarville School District has chosen to participate.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU AND YOUR KIDS?

All students will be able to eat free, with or without an application on file. Hopefully, funding will last through the end of December, but it could run out before then. USDA will let us know and we will announce when meals will be going back to pay.

SHOULD YOU STILL FILL OUT A FREE AND REDUCED APPLICATION?

We highly recommend that you fill out your application now. When funding does run out, all students with approved applications will continue to be served free and reduced-price meals. If a child doesn’t have a current application, they will be charged full price for meals. Applications can be picked up from any school office or you may complete an online application through
www.poplarvilleschools.org.

WHEN DOES THIS START?

We will start serving free meals to students on September 14, 2020. This includes breakfast and lunch for all students enrolled in the Poplarville School District.

WILL THE MENUS BE THE SAME?

Menus may change slightly in the future. All menus are available on www.poplarvilleschools.org.

If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Office at (601) 795-3101.
