SOCCER

Last week Poplarville High School girls and boys soccer teams traveled to Stone County on Tuesday, January 21. Both teams fought hard but were unable to defeat Stone County. Girls finished with a score of 0-3 and the boys ended with a score of 0-6. On Thursday, January 24 both soccer teams played a home game against PRC. In the last game of their season, the girls soccer team made PHS proud with a win of 3-1. The boys also collected another win with a final score of 3-2. We would like to congratulate our boys soccer team for making it to the first round of playoffs. They will be travelling to face Stanislaus on Tuesday, January 28.

BASKETBALL

Poplarville High School varsity boys and girls basketball teams played an away game at Sumrall on Tuesday, January 21st and Greene County at home on Friday, January 24th. Fortunately, both boys and girls came home with a win against Sumrall. The girls final score was 55-52 and the boys resulted in a win with a score of 51-54. On Friday, the girls fought hard but came up short with a score of 55-27. The boys played a close game but still won with a final score of 46-40. This week both boys and girls will be traveling to Stone on Friday, January 31st. The girls game will begin at 6:00pm and the boys will start at 7:30pm.
