PHS Basketball Weeks 10 through 12

The Lady Hornets basketball team played Lawrence County on Lawrence’s home turf January 8. They fought hard but fell short in the end with a total score of 51-31. On January 11th, the girls once again faced defeat in Purvis with a score of 22-40. The Lady Hornets made a comeback and brought home two wins during the third week of January against Pearl River Central and Purvis. On the 15th, the girls played against Pearl River Central and won with a score of 39-29. On the 18th, our girls won with a score of 51- 47 against Purvis. This past week, our Hornet Basketball Girls brought home a win and a loss while representing our school. On the 22nd, the girls got a win at home against Sumrall the game ended with a score of 36-31. On the 25th, our team travelled to Greene County where they lost their game with a score of 44-37. We’re so proud of our girls for their wins this season and these past weeks.

On January 8th of this new year, our boys on the Hornets Basketball team played against the Lawrence County Cougars. The final tally of the game was 52-34, sending the Cougars home with the win and making our Hornets even more determined to win next time. On the 10th, the Hornets traveled to Purvis to play against the Tornados and brought back a victory with a score of 66-46. On January 15, the Hornets faced off against Pearl River Central and won with a score of 78-64. On January 18, the boys faced off against Purvis. Purvis did well, but in the end our team won out with a score of 62-36, nearly twice there score! Next, on January 22, they faced Sumrall in a home game that they handily won 66-47. January 25 saw a victorious game against Greene Country. They won this away game with a score of 74-69. Let’s hope the team brings home more wins in the future.
