Dr. Herrington Visits PUE

Fourth grade students at Poplarville Upper are exploring the different body systems.  The students started the unit by learning how the muscular system worked with the skeletal system.  Students were able to create a model of the finger to show how the two systems worked together. Next, students began an exploration into the fascinating world of sight.  Students have learned about the different parts of the eye and are now comparing human sight to that of animals.  Students in Ms. Tammy Krutzfeldt’s room were able to ask questions and hear more about the eye from local optometrist, Dr. Bethany Harrington.  She shared tips on how to protect and keep the eyes healthy.  Students will continue the unit by exploring the nervous system, circulatory, respiratory, and immune system.
