Crossing the Finish Line

Coach Deatra Cable is one proud coach after the meet yesterday in Hancock County.  The Varsity boys’ leaders: Seniors Taylor Miller and Jeremy Johnson both came in at under 19 minutes.  Freshman Dominic Shubert received a Personal Best at 20.11, which is 3 minutes faster than last week.  20 minute runners were Junior Cody Johnson, and Freshmen Aaron Gonzales and Dustin Lee.  Poplarville boys finished in the top 20% overall.  “Very impressive meet,” exclaimed Coach Cable!

The Varsity girl leader was Junior Terra Shuler, who finished in the top 30.  Freshman Alyssa Duplantis, and Sophomores Elizabeth Hughes and Aimee Nunez respectively had good efforts and good running.

Coach Cable said both teams are working very hard towards the District Meet, which will be held in Diberville, MS on November 1st.

Runners to watch this season are Taylor Miller, Jeremy Johnston, Tyler Golden and Tanner Miley.  The Hornets will travel to their next meet in St. Martin on Saturday, October 12.
