PHS was awarded U.S. News and World Report's bronze medal and ranked as one of the nation's highest performing schools. The bronze medal is based on test scores of typical and less advantaged students in schools across the U.S.

A bronze medal is awarded if the school meets performance standards, but doesn't offer Advanced Placement courses or its College Readiness Index is less than 18.7 median needed to rank as silver.

"A good high school education is critical to prepare our future workforce," said Brain Kelly, editor and shief content officer of U.S. News and World Report in a press release.
