Wildlife Rehabilitator Visits CDC

Missy Dubuisson, wildlife rehabilitator, spoke to the Agricultural Environmental Science Class and the Intro to Biology Classes Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Ms. Dubuisson spoke to the classes about helping wild animals that have been injured and returning them to nature.  The animals (gopher tortoise, box turtles and opossums) that she brought with her for her demonstration speech cannot be returned to nature because they were so badly injured that they would not survive in the wild. Desiree ‘Touchet, 2012 Poplarville High School Graduate, assisted Ms. Dubuisson with her presentation.  Desiree’s senior project last year was Wildlife Rehabilitator and Ms. Dubuisson was her mentor. Ms. Dubuisson’s nonprofit organization is Wild at Heart Rescue.  You can follow her work at:  www.facebook.com/wildatheartrescue
