Dear Parents,

We are pleased about your child being at the Poplarville Lower Elementary. We strive to make each school year a great experience.

In order to have a successful learning experience, your child will need his/her supplies; therefore, we are sending a supply list home now. We hope that this will help you prepare for the coming year.

We will have a special GET-ACQUAINTED DAY for Grades K-2 at PLE on Friday August 5, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 pm. This will not be a regular school day. The school buses will not run on this day. The parents and the child can meet the teachers and see the child’s room. No room assignments will be given before this day. EACH CHILD SHOULD BRING HIS/HER SUPPLIES ON THIS DAY.

Kindergarten Supply List

1    Thin plastic red and blue mat for rest time (not extra thick)
1     Backpack without wheels - no purse size backpacks - Find one that is easy to  open with a very simple zipper closure and few or no pockets.
1    Change of clothes - extra uniform with underwear and socks (please label all clothes with  your child's name)

Boy's        
1   Hand sanitizer (8 oz. or larger)
1    Quart size Ziploc bags
1    Pkg. small 6oz. white paper plates ( No foam)

Girl's        
1    box of baby wipes
1     gallon Zipper top Ziploc bags

Please label ALL items that only your child will use such as rest mat, bookbag, pencil bag, crayons, clipboard, scissors, folders, glue sticks, markers, and extra change of clothes. There is NO need to label items that will be used by all students such as tissue, sanitizer, clorox wipes, construction paper, lunch or Ziploc bags.

A $15 instructional fee will be due on the day of Meet the Teacher. This fee is to cover instructional materials such as consumable workbooks, etc… that your child will use throughout the year.  

First Grade Supply List

The following items are needed if your child is entering:

3 10x13 manila envelopes (DO NOT put your name on envelopes)

2 single subject spiral notebook
1 BACKPACK - Please do not send a backpack with wheels. The reason for this is a safety concern. Students have to walk up and down stairs with the backpacks.
