 All PUE students participated in the 2010 PUE Reading Fair.
The 2010 PUE Reading Fair provided students with the opportunity to share their favorite fiction book through a storyboard display or poster. Teachers were able to teach the required framework from the Mississippi Department of Education using the requirements from the fair. Students received a grade for the completion of their planning sheets within the classroom and the outside creation of a display of the story elements. The fair categories are divided into individual and family projects.
Winners in the third grade family division include 1st place Josh Brown, 2nd place Logan Santiago and 3rd place Sarah LeCompte. Honorable Mentions were Seth Godwin and Hannah Cail. Joshua Brown also won the K-3 Family Division and represented PUE and PLE at the Regional Reading Fair in Hattiesburg where he placed 3rd.
Third grade individual category winners include 1st place Karley Culpepper, 2nd place Isabel Shapiro and 3rd place Canaan Logan. Honorable mention went to Hannah McClendon.
In grades 4 and 5, family division 1st place was Layne Bagley, 2nd place Parker Wells, and Honorable Mentions went to Ethan Burge and Jaci Ladner.
Grades 4 and 5 individual winners were 1st place Landry Bagley. 2nd place Ryan Schubert and 3rd place Alexis DeStarkey. Honorable mentions included Triston Lee, Taylor Hall, Caleb Davis, Kaitlyn Barber ,Heidi Ashley, Ally Barteet, and Merisa Myrick. All of the winners will be recognized on March 24th at PUEs PRIDE Recognition Day.
