Poplarville School District schools participated in a community-wide relay sponsored by American Cancer Societys Relay for Life on Saturday, May 16, 2009. With Fighting Cancer around the World as this years theme, PHS chose to represent Poland. The relay baton used to pass on during the relay was the Polish bird (white eagle) costume, created by Kolyn Dossett and Kayla Ross.
The high school student volunteers raised money by face-painting, creating crazy hair-dos and assisting volunteer faculty members with cooking Polish sausage dogs and selling refreshments. |
