The Middle School of Poplarville will be holding a parent information night on April 16, 2009 at 6:00pm. The topic of the night will be cyber-bullying and how to keep your kids safe in an increasingly technological world. Teenagers often do not understand how their interaction with others through cell phones and the internet can affect them in the long run. Some children engage in activity that is actually illegal without realizing it. With so many new ways for cyber-stalkers and cyber-bullies to reach your children, it is important to understand the dangers. Even if your child does not have access to the internet, cell phones are rapidly becoming the bullying instrument of choice for many bullies. MSP is asking all parents to please make an effort to attend.

This Wednesday, March 27th, the PHS Choir went to state competition in Jackson. The groups were awarded 2s, but the state judges were Handing out 3s and 4s like lolli-pops, as Mrs. Kennedy, Choir Director, says. The points scale goes from 4 being the worst and a 1 being the best.
I am usually an all A type of person, but I think I am satisfied with 2s because of the level of judging that occurred. We received many good comments that we can use for the future. My only frustration was that we did not fix everything that the judges on the district level pointed out. I was most proud, she says, that they worked together to reach that level of competition. |
