Santa made a surprise visit to each kindergarten class recently!
He is shown with Mrs. Trishs Class and brought each child in her class a book,
a Santa hat, and a candy cane. Recently, all the children in her class wrote a
letter to Santa to give him a little help with his Christmas delivery list.
Santa hand delivered to each child in her class a personalized letter. You know
Santa can do miraculous things; however, he could not have accomplished this
enormous feat without the help from the wonderful Santa helpers in Ms. Leigh
Ann Davis Computer Discovery Class. Santa was heard saying that he thoroughly
enjoyed the recent snow and that it made him feel right at home! |

The interviews held in the Career Development Center on December 9 th were the climax of the Project Success program. Students in all Career Development classes were involved in this program in order to prepare themselves for their future interactions with interviewers to begin their careers.
What did this program teach you? I asked of Aaron Stewart, a Business and Computer Technologies II student, who has been enrolled in the interviewing system for the past two years.
I learned how to connect with people and make situations less awkward and more relaxed so that I perform better, he said.
Do you think that this program helps students with their future careers?
I think that the letters and resume were useful and its good to learn how to answer an interviewers questions, but he believes that people will still be anxious towards future interviews.
Aarons BCT II teacher, Ms. Donna Storrs, believes that the program is an important experience for the students. When asked, What is the purpose of this program? she replies, (This program) helps the student become accustomed to answering questions about himself, and takes away the fear of the unknown. A first interview can be a scary thing. |

Riley Smith recently signed with Pearl River Community College, to play soccer. They had been scouting him since around the beginning of the school year, and recently closed the deal, giving Riley a scholarship to Pearl River. They also threw in a large, 100% cotton t-shirt, to make the deal borderline irresistible.
Riley will join PRCCs soccer team once he graduates and enrolls in the college.
Pictured with Riley are: Sid Smith (father), PHS Soccer Coach Herald Saucier, PHS Atheltic Director John Miller, and Carol Raines (mother).
