The Poplarville High School baseball teams season ended
last night with a brutal loss to West Jones. The game was the 3 rd in
the second-round of district playoffs.
The boys went into playoffs with an 18-8 record. After a
successful game against West Jones last Thursday, the boys continued on to
compete in a second playoff game. They lost that Friday, which launched them
into a tie-breaking game. The tie-breaker was scheduled for Saturday but was
cancelled due to rain, and rescheduled for last night. Unfortunately, the
Hornets lost 11 to 3 against the Mustangs which ended their season.
Brock Matthews, a senior first baseman had this to say: I
feel that it was a very successful season and Im very proud of all the players
who stepped up this year. |
