 Band director, Wilson Wise,
and the concert band brought joy to the faces of the 3 rd, 4 th,
and 5 th graders at PUE.
Our
band had a wonderful performance, and we all enjoyed singing along while they
played Christmas carols. PUE salutes the band and Mr. Wise! They are
awesome! |

The fifth grade classes at PUE
kicked off the holiday season by making gingerbread villages. It was gooey
and sticky, but a WHOLE lot of

On November 15 th, Mrs. Armstrongs and Mrs.
Hesters classes went to the Natural Museum of Science in Jackson, Mississippi. They traveled to and from their destination
on a charter bus complete with televisions and a bathroom.
Once in Jackson,
the students met with a naturalist to discuss fossils and dinosaurs. Then the students toured the Museum to learn
about various animals including birds of prey, endangered species, and
reptiles. They completed their museum
tour with a walk along the beautiful nature trail and a trip through the life
size maze.
When the students were asked
about the most amazing part of the trip the majority replied, the two-headed
snake! This wonderful experience will
definitely be remembered! |

As part of their video production enhancement project, three students from the journalism class at PHS will produce weekly and bi-weekly video shorts for broadcast over www.poplarvilleschools.org. The group of three is commonly referred to as the "Boyz" in the class.
The video project is designed to introduce students to the process of video making and editing.
