The Middle School of Poplarville seventh and eighth grade choir attended the annual District Choral Festival at the Perkinston campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday, February 17, 2006. Students did not compete against other choirs, but rather sang on stage before a panel of judges who rated their performance as superior, excellent, good, or fair. Each school?s choir had to then go into another room where they were to sightread.

The 7^th and 8^th grade Quest students designed their future dream homes.  Each student drew their own house plans and chose their interior designs.  They were given a family identity that included marital status, children, occupation and income, a loan amount for their house, and an additional furniture amount.

The class examined costs, sizes, and the pros and cons of a single family home. After given their family identity, the students decided what type of home best matched their income while meeting their family?s need.They calculated the number of square feet that they could afford to build and drew a rough plan. Plans along with interior designs were presented to the group using visual displays detailing their ideas.
