In case you haven?t noticed, fall is here. The cool feel of the crisp morning air, the colorful look of the turning leaves, and the occasional sight of a pumpkin display all work together to put us in a special mood. We begin to think of holiday cooking and delicious smells coming from the kitchen.
Well, the students of Sugar-n-Spice Bakery are in the mood for some fall treats. So, beginning Monday, Oct. 24, they will be selling warm, ooey-gooey fudge brownies during morning break. The lucky folks in the 400-wing will be able to smell those warm brownies baking from one end of the hallway to the other. Mmmm! They?re irresistible!
If you?re in the mood for a delicious treat, stop by Rm. 409 during morning break. For only one quarter you can enjoy the delicious taste of a warm fudge brownie--what a bargain! |

After the local Baptist Association made a relief trip to Derby, the school launched an Internet search for a small town in need; this combined with message from the relief team provided Landrum with its adoptee: our town of Poplarville, Mississippi. |

Poplarville High
School librarian Jo Laurin Davis
and students Natalie S. (left) and Heather M. look through some of the
more than 500 books purchased with a gift from Hazel Stanford Edwards of Flint,
Texas.
Hindered from delivery because of Hurricane Katrina, the largest order
of books ? 16 boxes of them ? arrived September 30. Most of the books are non-fiction, with
topics ranging from astronomy to zoology.
According to Mrs. Davis, the books were order “shelf ready” so that they
could be checked out as soon as possible.
“I do have to label them as belonging to PHS Library, but that should be
completed this week,” Mrs. Davis said.
