Mrs.
Juaneese Lee?s first grade classroom review color words by making a “Paper
Plate” Color Book. Each child had to
color a paper plate for each word, write the word in the middle of the paper
plate, and cut/paste pictures from magazines to illustrate the color. The activity took approximately 3 weeks to
complete.

On August
19, 2005 the Poplarville Hornets kicked off their 2005 football season by hosting a football Jamboree. The jamboree was designed to showcase the
Hornets abilities on the field. The
Hornets played two 2-quarter games. Their first game was against the St. John
Eagles and the Hornets trampled the Eagles defeating them 20 to 7.

The PHS journalism class is now contributing to Poplarville's community web site, Poplarville.com.
"Poplarville.com gives my students a chance to be read by people in the community and around the world," said Stephen Seal, PHS journalism instructor. "They will still be writing school news for our school website. Selected stories will be placed on Poplarville.com's front page but mainly my students will be writing for the 'What's Hot' section of the site."
Poplarville.com is a not for profit site designed for business, community, and religious postings.

The Poplarville High School coaching staff for the 2005 football season spent all summer turning the new football/weight room complex into an athletic sanctuary. The coaches? agenda for this past summer consisted of painting the weight room, installing new mirrors, putting together all new weight systems, and much more. The varsity football locker room received new carpet in addition to tile. The coaches also made forty new lockers for the junior varsity football locker room.

Angie Bilbo's Kindergarten class is beginning their patriotic unit. This unit
was developed for students to acquire the characteristics needed to be a
responsible citizen. It is an ongoing unit.
