As winners of this year’s Hurricane Bowl, the PHS Fish Fighters were treated to a snorkeling trip to St. Andrews State Park in Florida during the weekend of May 3rd. While the weather was a bit cold for snorkeling, the brave members of the Fish Fighters entered the waters anyway. The Fish Fighters were delighted to find numerous species of fish, mollusks, jellies, and other marine creatures there to greet them. The second place team, Ocean Springs, joined the Fish Fighters for the weekend in Florida which was hosted by the Gulf Coast Research Lab. In addition to snorkeling at St. Andrews State Park, the Fish Fighters and the Ocean Springs team explored the grass beds at St Joseph Peninsula State Park and enjoyed the animals and shows at Gulf World Marine Park. Thanks to the scientists of USM’s Gulf Coast Research Lab and our friends from Ocean Springs High School. Pictured above are members of the Ocean Springs Ocean Bowl team along with staff members of GCRL and the Fish Fighters.
