Poplarville School District Superintendent Carl Merritt, who has led the school district through a pivotal time of growth and restructure, announced Monday, that after 42 years in education, he is retiring from the educational sector. Merritt will continue to serve the district through December 20th, the final day of the fall semester, when he will pass the torch of excellence to current Assistant Superintendent, Mrs. Konya Miller.  Merrit stated that he believes that the district is in a good place for him to retire and that Poplarville School District has an excellent team in place to help our district continue to excel.
