Poplarville Upper Elementary is proud to announce that Mrs. Michelle Allen was selected as the Staff Employee of the Year. Mrs. Allen was hired as our Bookkeeper in July 2012 after substituting in the school for six months. While it sounds like her primary responsibility would be maintaining the financial records of the school that is only a small part of her daily tasks.
She works tirelessly to assist every staff member in any way that she can. Her organizational abilities are tested daily with many responsibilities ranging from maintaining the school calendar and securing substitutes for the staff to helping answer the incoming calls and greeting the people that enter the office.
Michelle has proven very capable in being able to perform all of these tasks, and the many additional non-stated tasks that arise during the day to day operations of a school of more than 400 students. Not only does she effectively and efficiently handle her duties, but she does so with a smile and welcoming voice in an effort to help everyone feel at ease and welcomed at Poplarville Upper Elementary.
