TDap and Varicella Vaccination Information

The Mississippi State Department of Health requires all students entering 7th grade to receive the TDap and Varicella vaccinations before the upcoming school year.  The TDap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) is strongly recommended for all adolescents, however, it is only required for those entering 7th grade.   These immunizations can be received as early as age 11.

This vaccine and other recommended vaccines are available at health department clinics throughout the state and through all Vaccines for Children (VFC) providers.

Health Department Clinic Hours as follows:

Mondays and Thursdays – 9:30-10:30    and     1:00-3:30

Tuesdays and Wednesdays – 8:00-10:00  and  1:00-3:00

Fridays – no injections given.
