Rep Corley Dr Cole Bev Merritt Carl Merritt

On February 14, State Representative John Glen Corley gave Superintendent, Carl Merritt, CTE Director, Dr. Marlene Cole, and STEM teacher, Beverly Merritt a personal tour of the Capitol for the Annual Mississippi School Board Association Day in Jackson, MS. Representative Corley introduced them to several legislators and provided them with an opportunity to observe a Ways and Means Committee meeting in action. The educators were also given the opportunity to have a sit down conference with Speaker of the House Philip Gunn to discuss educational opportunities for the students in Pearl River County including career and technical opportunities and the important role it plays on all district’s graduation rate.

The trio would like to especially thank Representative Corley for his gracious hospitality.
