6 players from the 2016 Varsity Football Team have been selected to represent Poplarville on the 4A All-State Football Team. Players were voted on by coaches from around the state of Mississippi.
Senior fullback Jesse Pernell was selected for the Class 4A All-State Offense First-Team. Pernell ran 215 times for 1,830 yards and scored 27 touchdowns for 162 points.
Senior cornerback Aritaeus Johnson was selected for the Class 4A All-State Defense First-Team. Aritaeus led the state in Class 4A football with 9 interceptions.
Senior offensive lineman Austin Arceneaux and Junior running back Austin Bolton were both selected for the Class 4A All-State Offense Second-Team. Bolton ran 196 times for 1,746 yards and scored 24 touchdowns for 144 points.
Senior defensive end Jamerrick Waller and Senior defensive tackle Chad Hart were both selected for the Class 4A All-State Defense Second-Team.
